Worship
We hope you will be our guest this Sunday. We know that visiting with a church may sometimes feel uncomfortable and we want you to have a sense of what to expect when you visit with us.
- OPEN
At the opening of our services one of the men of the congregation will stand before the church and make general announcements. - SINGING
After announcements are made we begin our worship with singing. The New Testament teaches us to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to edify each other and glorify God and Christ (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). The song leader will announce the selections and you can find them in our book, Hymns For Worship. Our worship in song is a cappella, which means without instrumental accompaniment. - PRAYER
After a song or two, a prayer will be offered. One of the men of the congregation will lead the prayer as we direct our thoughts together (1 Timothy 2:1-4). - LORD'S SUPPER
The Lord's Supper (sometimes called Communion) will be offered to all Christians in memory of the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). This is a simple memorial, instituted by Christ, consisting of unleavened bread and unfermented fruit-of-the-vine (grape juice). Prior to partaking, a lesson will be presented that emphasizes this memorial. The Lord's Supper is offered each Sunday (Acts 20:7). - COLLECTION
A collection will be taken from our members as a means of supporting the work of the church; Christian benevolence and the teaching of the Gospel (1 Corinthians 16:1,2). This is a responsibility of the members of this church. Our visitors are under no obligation whatsoever to contribute. - PREACHING
A sermon will be preached that exalts the Bible, the word of God, above the will of man. The speaker will point us to scriptures again and again as the lesson is presented (2 Timothy 3:16,17). You are encouraged to use your own Bible or one of ours and follow along. At the conclusion of the sermon, anyone wishing to become a Christian or those who desire prayer will be given the opportunity to come forward. - CLOSE
At the close of our services, annoucements are reiterated and then we engage in a word of prayer once again. After this prayer, we dismiss.
Bible Classes
Our classes are intended to help us all, young and old, grow in knowledge of the Word of God and grow closer to God in Jesus Christ. As a visitor you are encouraged to participate and ask any questions you may have, however, you do not need to be anxious about being called on unexpectedly to read or to answer a question.
- SUNDAY
On Sunday morning, we go directly into our classes and begin our study at 9:30 AM. When you enter the building, you can ask any member where the appropriate classrooms are for your child or children. The adult class meets in the auditorium. After the class period is over,we assemble together for our worship services. Our worship services begin at 10:00 AM. - WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM we again assemble in our classrooms for Bible study for all ages. When classes dismiss, we gather in the auditorium and sing. A speaker will deliver a brief message before the congregation, which is intended to encourage us all to live faithfully as Christians and to give an opportunity to any who wish to become a Christian or those who desire prayer to come forward. We then sing another song and pray together.
